In the Now…For the Future has adopted an evolved view of defining High Performance Homes, and the method of how to achieve the desired end result.  We are glad you have come to this page on our web-site, and hope you will notice the difference of our perspective compared to other nationally recognized organizations and government programs.  Similar to the Integrated Systems Approach to ENERGY STAR homes, High Performance Homes must include all of the aspect illustrated above to meet our perspective of a truly High Performance Home.  For example, a home that achieves very low utilities, but fails to meet high levels of health & safety, does not complete the description.  Many of the descriptions of High Performance Homes on the internet focus on end use energy consumption through the use of highly efficient mechanical systems, appliances and building components.  With our perspective, this is an important aspect, but only ONE aspect of six.  In order to completely meet the description of High Performance, all six aspects must be incorporated.  It may be debatable the percentage of each aspect, but it is crucial that all aspects must be focused on to comply with a truly High Performance Home.    I would raise a question to home-owners and people interested in building a new home.
